Application of Sand and stone dryer

The Sand and Stone Dryer, also known as the Sand Dryer, is a combination drying machine designed to handle large volumes of material. Known for its reliability, flexibility, and adaptability, it is widely used in construction materials, metallurgy, food processing, chemicals, coal, and mining industries. This dryer is especially effective for drying granular materials, such as river sand and quartz sand, as well as sticky or high-moisture materials like paste-like substances.

Working principle

 1. Material Feeding:

   Sand and stone are transported via belt or bucket conveyors to a hopper and then fed into the dryer through a feed pipe.

   The feed pipe’s inclination ensures smooth flow into the drum.

   2. Drying Mechanism:

   The cylindrical dryer is slightly inclined, with material entering at the higher end.

   Heat source enters from the lower end, ensuring countercurrent heat exchange.

   In some cases, material and heat source flow concurrently.

   3. Material Movement:

   Rotating drum and gravity drive materials towards the lower end.

   Lifting plates inside the drum lift and scatter materials, increasing contact with the hot air, thereby improving drying efficiency.

   4. Heat Exchange:

   Heat sources include hot air and flue gas.

   After drying, the exhaust gases pass through a cyclone dust collector to capture residual material.

   Further dust reduction can be achieved using bag filters or wet scrubbers before discharge.
